What Makes This Journey Different
The Kindred approach isn't about rigid rules or digital detoxes. We understand that technology is part of modern family life. Instead, we'll guide you to create more of the experiences you want to have with your family, and less of the experiences you don't.
Through our carefully designed 6-week program, you'll walk away with:
Your family’s Mindful Technology Plan, featuring a toolkit of practical strategies designed specifically for your family to maintain healthy tech habits
A clear understanding of your family's "true strengths" - activities that energize and fulfill each family member beyond the digital world
A supportive community of like-minded parents you can rely on long after the program ends
Ongoing access to expert guidance from Kindred founders Debra and Matt as your family continues to evolve"
Over six transformative weeks, you'll be part of an intentionally small group of parents working together to redefine your family's relationship with technology.
Cohort members meet every other Wednesday to share experiences and build connection with like minded parents.
The Journey: What to Expect
Week 1-2: Self-Awareness
Discover where your family currently stands with technology and identify what's working and what's not. Explore your natural tendencies around habits and change, laying the groundwork for sustainable transformation.
Week 3-4: Parent/Child Connection
Uncover your family's core values and learn how to translate these into meaningful tech choices. Develop your family's unique "Tech Mission Statement" to serve as your North Star for decision-making.
Week 5-6: Family Action Plan
Bridge the gap between vision and action by identifying your family's genuine interests and strengths. Create your one-page Family Mindful Technology Plan that brings everything together into a simple, practical framework for daily life.

Why Join a Cohort?
Change is challenging—especially when it involves family dynamics and deeply ingrained habits. Our cohort model provides:
Accountability to help you follow through on your intentions
Community with parents who understand your struggles
Perspective from diverse family situations and approaches
Support when you face inevitable obstacles and setbacks
Is This Right for Your Family?
This program is designed for parents of children ages 6-12, but the principles are applicable to parents of all ages. It's especially valuable if you:
Feel overwhelmed by the constant negotiation around screen time
Want to be more intentional about technology without creating family conflict
Are seeking a middle path between unrestricted tech use and rigid limitations
Value connection with your children and want technology to enhance rather than hinder family relationships
“This workshop was excellent. The discussion about what we prioritize, or “optimize for” in our families verses what tech companies are optimizing for really resonated with me, as did the idea of replacing technology with life!”

Our approach
We focus on meaningful practices that foster lasting change, steering clear of quick fixes and superficial tips—because your family deserves lifelong impact.
Strengthening Parent-Child Connection
Investing in this relationship offline ensures your family stays connected and resilient in an ever-online world.
Prioritizing Offline Identity
When you know who you are offline, you’re more likely to engage in activities that bring positive emotions and foster a sense of purpose.
Rooted In Your Family Values
Making family decisions based on values rather than cultural norms ensures that technology enhances, rather than detracts, from family life
Flourishing offline, together
Grounded in deeper connection, families can build stronger bonds, enhance communication, and create a foundation for lifelong emotional well-being.
